Above The Canopy has an ongoing commitment to ensure that all its activities have minimal environmental impact and take all possible opportunities for environmental enhancement. Consequently ATC's operational activities are reviewed periodically to ensure that they are up to date with current environmental requirements. ATC also ensures that it complies with all statutory regulations for the preservation of the environment.

We will at all times strive to ensure that we work in a manner that reduces consumption of raw materials and energy and strive to minimise waste in both administrative and operational activities. We are also aware of the impact that plant, machinery and materials can have on the environment and ensure that these items are stored, transported, handled, used and disposed of within the requirements of the appropriate legislation and relevant codes of practice.

Whenever ATC is involved in the management and maintenance of vegetation and landscapes we aim to:

Maintain and wherever possible enhance:
  • The basic biological productivity of soils
  • The quality of the atmosphere
  • The biological diversity of a site
  • The numbers of valuable wildlife
  • Endangered or sensitive habitats, flora and fauna
  • Maintain and wherever possible, improve cherished landscapes
  • Conserve important archaeological features
  • Conserve important historical features.

ATC also strives to raise environmental awareness amongst its customers, sub-contractors and suppliers. There are some useful and interesting links to relevant sites on our links page.
