Thinning
Crown thinning is the removal of side lateral branches and does not affect the overall height or spread of the tree.
Reductions
The height and/ or spread of the crown is reduced (usually by a percentage amount) leaving a well-balanced shape. All branches are cut to the nearest available growth point or side lateral branch.
Removals/Felling
Trees are carefully section felled to a workable ground level. The stump is cut flat in the same plane as the surrounding ground.
Stump grinding
Stump grinding is the removal of the tree stump and does not include the side lateral roots unless specified. Woodchip from the stump grinding is removed from site and the area is raked level.
